Following the release of his highly personal ‘The Beast Within’ album, a dedication to his family inspired by the adjacent losses of a close friend and his newborn son, the South Philadelphia-raised Nico the Beast shifts gears for the upcoming ‘True To Form’ EP. Appropriately produced by Vanderslice, a force in beat battles, Army of the Pharaohs records and more.
The project is inspired by the street corner cyphers and grassroots style of hip-hip he came up with. The engaging, wide-open soundscape for the lead single,”Deja Vu”, serves as a canvas for Nico to sport his vast repertoire of flows and set the tone for the approaching EP.
