“Stress City 2 is an album based off the concept of stress in our everyday lives, my everyday life. I wrote the songs based off my experiences and the struggles I went through on a day to day basis. The album was started while I was living in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and the recording process was finished here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Stress City 2 is not a sequel. The “2,” for me, signifies it’s progression. I actually released the original Stress City album in 2007 with really no knowledge of what direction I wanted it to take because of the demands life was giving me at the time. With Stress City 2, Bridging the Gap Music, 83 Sound, and myself, really had the time to sit down and talk about it’s message and it’s direction. We constructed 4 videos, with the help of Misfit Media, and were able to show the public what I had envisioned. Studio access was there, however I wanted to keep the recording process in my apartment, where I felt at home, and away from the blind criticism that often pokes its dirty head at artists. I would wake up, record, go to class, go to work, and then come home and record. Stress was helping me put colors on the canvas and I wanted it to stay that way.
The album is not here for me to say I have an album to push, it’s here for you to relate to, because we all have a story to tell. Thanks to everyone involved in helping me get this out. Humbled.”
