Hailing from the Swiss capital of Bern, Naturetone pioneered Swiss hip-hop in the early 1990s as a founding member of ecologist hip-hop crew 3TP. After a 15 year studio hiatus, Naturetone returned in 2010 with Nihon, an tmospheric instrumental hip-hop album which paid tribute to, as the title implies, Japan.
The Orient is again a source of inspiration on Naturetone’s second coming. Turnings of the Sun is ignoring conventions and instead opting for atmosphere and discovery. Naturetone weaves melodies, sounds and beats into an intricate texture that becomes much more than a piece of music, Turnings of the Sun is a sonic experience.
