Mountain Dew announces their continued support of Mac Miller by presenting the upcoming Macadelic Tour featuring Mac Miller with support from Green Label Sound alums, The Cool Kids and the Braddock, Penn. duo The Come Up. The Macadellic Tour kicks off today, March 27th, in Norfolk, Va. and will take the three acts to more than 30 cities across the US.
Dubbed an “internet sensation,” by Rolling Stone and featured on XXL Magazine’s Freshmen Class 2011 cover feature, even before his official debut, Mac Miller has built up a loyal fan base and won critical acclaim. “Mac brings such passion to his work – he works directly with fans, adds a ton of creativity and positive energy to all he does. Simply put, he is one of the most exciting artists out there,” said Brett O’Brien, Vice President of Marketing for Mountain Dew. “We’re pumped to be working with him again and to be able to bring fans the Macadelic Tour.”
On his excitement about working with Mountain Dew again, Mac noted, “I’ve seen how Mountain Dew supports young artists. We’ve been trying to work together again for months and when this tour came up it seemed like the perfect opportunity.” Last March, Green Label Sound asked Mac to play their official SXSW showcase with Chromeo, The Cool Kids, Classixx and Theophilus London. Since then, Mountain Dewalso presented his Blue Slide Park tour in support of his album of the same name, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Mac also returned for Green Label Sound’s SXSW Showcase this year, which featured Flosstradamus, RAC, Star Slinger and Juicy J as well as surprise performances by Penguin Prison, Lil Chippy and Wiz Khalifa.
