Jesse Idol “Love Lust Project” [REVIEW]

This morning I got sent an awesome album from the management team behind an up and coming R&B sensation named Jesse Idol. Jesse’s a former member of the Newark Boys Choir, a prestigious assembly of young male artists that has performed all over the world. Being a Friday evening, I figured this was the ideal time to drop this review — especially since we all know what goes down late, late, late on Friday nights!!

Let me be the next person (since I’m far from the first and nowhere near last) to say this kid has obvious talent and his potential is beyond probable. With silky smooth vocals — almost an Usher x Trey Songz x Chris Brown hybrid — Jesse displays his vocals on a perfect selection of beats that fit his flow so naturally. After only one listen, I could immediately draw parallels between him and so many other successful artists past and present; it was unbelievable but I don’t wanna sound corny by making comparisons. No matter the situation this album is great listen unless of course you’re watching Football. Or surrounded by dudes. That’s definitely… not a good look. At all.

The album has a little bit of everything: nothing too fast, nothing too slow but just the perfect ratio of uptempo bangers to babymaking ballads — some of which you can preview below. The track selection is well arranged and paces itself — consider it the musical equivalent to the ‘rhythm method.’ Granted, this is the “Love Lust Project” so you can probably guess it’s best reserved for the bedroom. So, when you’re leaving the club later tonight, headed to your late night rendezvous — remember the sure fire way to set the mood is with this!

Soon enough, Jesse’s going to be making his way into the ears of music fans everywhere. And perhaps even more importantly, finding his way into the hearts (and between the sheets) of young ladies everywhere. Remember, it’s cuff season.
