Los Angeles singer/songwriter Chelsea Lankes has had a whirlwind 2015, releasing two polished pop tunes “Down For Whatever” and “Too Young To Fall In Love,” a cover of one of Mötley Crüe’s earlier singles and deeper cuts. With early radio support from KCRW, KXRN, and 98.7FM KYSR in Los Angeles, as well as a nod from Spotify in their New Music Tuesday series, it’s safe to say that Chelsea is having a good year.

Today Chelsea shares a new single “Love. Hate. Pain. Killer” that was originally featured on the VICE short film “Mr. Happy,” directed by Colin Tilley and starring Chance The Rapper.

“I wrote this song from the place of Chance’s character in the movie – someone who is desperately trying to escape his life and fighting a war within himself,” Chelsea says. “Watching the film, I felt like his character was torn between loving and hating his pain. That’s what this song is about – the complicated relationship we have with ourselves and our desperate attempts to get away from it all.”

Both “Too Young To Fall In Love” and “Down For Whatever” are out now via B3SCI Records on limited edition 7-inch vinyl. Buy it on iTunes.
